Daniel Radcliffe Says A 'Harry Potter' Reboot Is Definitely Happening

Are you ready to see Harry Potter rebooted? Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who brought your favorite boy wizard to life in the record breaking film franchise, sure is. While promoting his new TBS series Miracle Workers at the TCAs winter press tour, Radcliffe addressed theories that Harry, Ron, and Hermione's magical adventures would one day be adapted for the small screen.

"I don't know at this point what would be gained by rebooting it for TV, but that's not necessarily the goal, I suppose," he said. "I definitely think there will be another version of it within my lifetime. It will be interesting to see. At the moment those films have sort of a sacred varnish on them, but that will be worn away at some point... I'm just intrigued to see when that happens."

While the 29-year-old actor knows that a reboot is (most likely) inevitable, he'd actually rather see more spinoffs a la the new Fantastic Beasts film series. "I feel like there are other stories from that world that you could absolutely turn into a TV series, 100 percent," he said. When asked which story he'd love to see adapted into a TV series? The Marauders aka James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew during their days as Hogwarts students. "A series with the older generation, that could be very cool."

Radcliffe certainly isn't alone in hoping The Marauders get a spinoff series. Fans of the Harry Potter universe have long asked J.K. Rowling to revisit this era in new books or on film. Now that Harry Potter himself is asking for it, maybe The Marauders will finally get their day in the spotlight.

Miracle Workers airs on Tuesdays at 10:30/9:30c on TBS.
