Lady Gaga Teases Big Announcement In LOL-Worthy FaceTime With Jimmy Fallon

Well, this FaceTime call didn't go as planned.

Like the rest of us, celebrities are having to stay in contact with each other over FaceTime, Skype and Zoom—even when they're making major announcements on talk shows. On Wednesday (April 1), Jimmy Fallon called Lady Gaga via FaceTime so the pop star could fill her fans (and the rest of the world) in on an exciting new project she's working on. When she got the call, however, she wasn't ready to spill the tea just yet.

"I can't, Jimmy," Gaga said when she answered the Tonight Show host's call. "I can't talk right now. I'm really sorry. It's just, like, a really weird time right no. Hello? Jimmy? I can't see you? Am I on TV?"

A phone was loudly ringing off the hook in the background at Gaga's house while Jimmy tried to get to the big announcement. "There's something that you're working on, very big, going to help people out right now," he said. His efforts didn't work, unfortunately, and Gaga wasn't able to share her big news.

She replied, "I can't, I can't, I can't tell you everything right now because I'm still ironing out the details and I have a lot of phone calls to make."

Things went even more haywire when Gaga asked Jimmy to call her back. Jimmy offered to call back in 10 minutes. "Can you call me on, um, can you call me Friday?" she responded, to which Jimmy replied, with an amused and surprised expression on his face, "Can I call you on Friday? It's uh, yeah. It's Wednesday." Gaga did give it a small hint as to what the surprise announcement will be. "It's for COVID-19," she said before quickly ending the call.

We'll just have to wait until Monday (April 6) to find out what Gaga is working on. It sure sounds like it will be worth the wait.
