Bette Midler Confirms 'Hocus Pocus' Sequel With Original Cast

During a recent appearance on Fox 5’s Good Day New York, Bette Midler shared some scary good news—a highly anticipated sequel to Hocus Pocus is in the works. The original cast, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, are all on board.

Earlier this year, rumors began circulating that the cult classic Halloween film was going to get a Disney+ sequel. It's only now that Winifred Sanderson herself confirmed the reports. “They want to make a movie; they’ve asked us if we were interested, and, of course, all of us said yes,” Midler said. “I’m game. I’m totally game.”

This isn't the only Hocus Pocus update fans have gotten recently, either. Just a few days ago, Midler gave her Instagram followers a sneak peak at the upcoming Hocus Pocus reunion. The actresses will reprise their wicked roles for Midler's annual 'Hulaween' fundraising gala, which will be renamed as In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover this year. The event will also be virtual this year because of the ongoing pandemic.

"Your 3 fav witches are returning for 1 night only," Midler captioned her Instagram post, showing all three actresses in full Sanderson garb. "'In Search of the Sanderson Sisters' is the best thing to happen to Halloween sinceHocus Pocus+ Reeses Pieces."

Midler, Parker and Najimy also reunited on Instagram to encourage their fans to vote. While they weren't dressed up in character as the Sanderson Sisters like they will be for the Hulaween gala, they did tryt o cast a spell to make sure everybody votes. "Using our magic for good, can you believe it?" Midler joked.
