Kelly Clarkson kicked off her Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum Theater in Caesars Palace just one week after unexpectedly canceling a show less than two hours before it was set to begin.

The "Since U Been Gone" songstress had to postpone her Fourth of July weekend shows due to vocal issues, and assured ticket holders that she would reschedule when she felt she was able to deliver an "extraordinary experience."

"We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans. I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me, and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars. The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I want the shows to be perfect for y’all and I need to protect myself from doing serious damage," she wrote in an Instagram Post last weekend.

Days later, a Vegas insider told Page Six that Clarkson worked her vocal cords to the bone and that she needed to postpone the shows to avoid further damage.

"She belts out every single note. She’s an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she’s come incredibly close to needing surgery before. She cannot risk damaging her cords further – she’s on thin ice."

The "Stronger" hitmaker took the stage on July 11, as promised, and delivered an epic show for fans. She spoke about her absence and reiterated her apologies regarding the last-minute cancelation.

"Man, I’m so sorry if some of y’all had [tickets to] last weekend’s shows. I’m so sorry. We can’t help our bodies sometimes, and that happens, but thank you for showing up. We’re so excited."
