Kris Jenner, the 70-year-old matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner family, recently shared her perspective on maintaining relationships with her daughters' ex-partners. Despite public scandals and personal betrayals, Kris explained her approach during the November 17th episode of the "On Purpose with Jay Shetty" podcast. She emphasized her commitment to forgiveness and family unity, especially for the sake of her 13 grandchildren.
Kris, known for her role as a 'momager,' has long kept an open-door policy for her daughters' former partners, including Scott Disick, Tristan Thompson, and Travis Scott. "These are, in most cases, the fathers of my grandchildren," Kris said. "And I love these men. That love doesn’t go away when we experience really challenging times with them." She added that issues like cheating scandals have been handled privately, and she believes in moving forward with maturity.
Kris's philosophy is rooted in her desire to set a positive example for her grandchildren. She expressed concern about how her actions today might be perceived by them in the future. "What will my grandkids think 20 years from now if their grandmother treated their dad poorly?" she pondered. "I teach my kids forgiveness. It's one of the biggest lessons that I can teach them."
This approach is not new for Kris, who has maintained amicable relationships with ex-partners since her own divorce from Robert Kardashian in 1991. She ensured that Robert remained involved in her children's lives, setting a precedent for how she now treats her daughters' exes. Kris's commitment to compassion and communication has allowed her to embrace her extended family, including ex-partners, in celebrations and family gatherings.
