James Van Der Beek is reportedly "bouncing back" following his cancer diagnosis.
On Monday (November 24), the Dawson's Creek alum, 48, thanked fans who have shown him love and support as he fights his own battle with cancer, sharing a video on Instagram of him throwing around a football and wearing a jersey from his 1999 film Varsity Blues, which he is selling signed versions of to help pay for treatment and support other families experiencing similar health struggles, per Page Six.
"Thank you — for the love, the prayers, the support, and for making this jersey mean something far bigger than a movie," he said. "Endlessly grateful for all of you."
In response, the actor's wife Kimberly Van Der Beek, 43, shared an encouraging comment in support of her husband's health journey and even hinted that he is making positive strides in his cancer battle. The couple have been married for 15 years, E! News reports, and share six children: Olivia, 15, Joshua, 13, Annabel, 11, Emillia, 9, Gwendolyn, 8, and Jeremiah, 4.
"You're a wizard," she wrote. "Bouncing back baby!"
James first revealed his stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis in November 2024, telling People at the time that he had been "privately dealing" with the disease and "taking steps to resolve it," adding, "There's reason for optimism, and I'm feeling good."
